St. Gregorios Orthodox Church of Westchester (NY) is a parish of American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India. Our parish is established under the holy name of the first proclaimed saint of Malankara Orthodox Church – Parumala Mar Gregorios.  The official inaugural ceremony was held at Immanuel Jewish Center, Mount Vernon, NY, inaugurated by His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Ivanios (Metropolitan of the Kottayam Diocese).  Saint Gregorios Orthodox Church of Westchester was incorporated in New York on November 8, 1997.  Our diocesan metropolitan, His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas, appointed Rev. Dr. Raju Varghese as the Vicar of the newly established Church. After few years, we moved from worshipping at Immanuel Jewish Center to our present location of Saint John’s Episcopal Church auditorium (100 Underhill Street - Yonkers, NY 10710).  Our parish has grown and has prospered under the guidance of Rev. Fr. N. K. Ittanpillai for the last several years.  Our church family is continually growing in each of these areas -worship, witness, fellowship and service. 

At our parish, we have several ministries (spiritual organizations) that are closely directed to respective age groups in order to spiritually help each and every member to grow in the Body of Christ.  Few of the ministries are the following: Sunday School (SS) – helping children to understand the root of Orthodoxy and building their faith in Jesus Christ and her Church; Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement (MGOCSM) – helping young people of today to become the leaders of tomorrow through the total experience of worship, study and service, both in the Church and the Community; Martha Mariam Vanitha Samajam (MMVS) or St. Mary’s Women’s League – spiritually strengthening each woman of the parish through intercessory prayers, communal support, as well as helping them to take different roles as in organizing charitable events.

Currently, Morning Prayer (Matins) begins at 8:30 AM, followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:15 AM till 11 AM.  Afterwards, Sunday School and Martha Mariam Vanitha Samajam meetings are held at 11:15 AM.
